At this point in the creative process, Toriyama had not yet settled upon a name. Handwritten notes on the illustration translate to "Saiyan Limit" and "Saiyan Z," both of which are alternate names for Vegeta's iconic form. Super Vegeta made his first appearance in the "Perfect Cell Saga. During Vegeta's bout with Semi-Perfect Cell, the Saiyan transcends beyond Super Saiyan to an even more powerful state, causing even the normally overconfident Cell to tremble in fear. Despite previous difficulties, Vegeta manages to knock Cell around easily in his new form. Pleased with his new strength, Vegeta triumphantly refers to himself as "Super Vegeta. After a period of intense training on the home planet of Beerus, God of Destruction, Vegeta manages to attain the legendary Super Saiyan God form, then beyond that to Super Saiyan Blue. Wandering facial features like those on most of the BOG supporting cast bother me. That's the best example of his modern art if he still cared. Everyone looks like children. Interesting thread. Post by TheMikado » Thu Mar 01, pm. Post by Issei » Thu Mar 01, pm Nice and simple, but they are too scrawny compared to his old designs and the ones from the Anime. Anyway, the reason people hate it is because of the simplicity, I know its not because of age because dragon Ball characters have always looked younger than they really are. Post by Totamo » Thu Mar 01, pm Man, these are really animation friendly, though. Post by pepd » Fri May 15, pm. Post by Grimlock » Fri May 15, pm.
