Maybe they will give the gun a better alternative mod latter on but for right now i just find myself shelving it most time collecting dust. It was hard to run out of ammo for shotgun and because enemies took so few bullets other than those bigger demons it was never an issue. Like why bother shooting 50 rounds of Chaingun in Doom 1 and 2 against a group when you can just take them down with two shots from super shotgun? But the Double Barreled shotgun gets more powerful once you upgrade it fully and gets it special feature.
