It's that it's frankly been a long time since we had a straight-up, old-school first-person shooter campaign with this much meat on its bones. It may not be a huge game, but it's got a lot to it, and that includes a plethora of Doom secrets, collectibles, easter eggs , and well-hidden upgrades. Plus, with the release of the new Switch version, a run down of the Doom Switch differences you can expect. Spoilers - it's very similar to the PC and console versions, so all our guides below will work just fine. So what are you looking out for?

Doom 2016 secrets

The new Doom contains 13 secret levels and hidden areas themed after classic Doom retro stages. Finding each of these unlocks the full level for play in the Doom main menu. These levels are each activated by finding and pulling a hidden lever, then navigating to the secret level entrance. The first Doom hidden level is located midway through the martian landscape just past this distinctive cylinder structure. The third secret level lever is hidden in the center of the main foundry chamber at the top level. The fourth secret level lever is hidden to the left of this installation just beyond the first Rune. Halfway up Agrent Energy Tower, there are two floating transports. One glows green, the other blue. Ride the blue-hued transport to the top of the stage. You'll spot the lever fairly near the beginning of the level behind stacked crates on one of the platforms. The stage eight lever is hidden behind this grate high on a cliff after the outdoor arena and platform jumping section. To reach it, perform a jump from the right side of the grate around the pipe to the right and an immediate double jump left onto the platform. The Lazarus lever is relatively easy to find, tucked into the edge of the small, distinctive red-ring room.

To find this lever, turn away from the door, and look on your left to spot the lever hidden behind some supports for a nearby platform, doom 2016 secrets. Take out the demons and make your way around the path.

Some rooms will have a collectible or item you must pick up to get the secret. In the case of the UAC Marineguy Collectibles there are two per mission, and they go left to right and top to bottom. So the first row of the Collectibles page are Chapters 1 and 2, then 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8. Second page is 9 and 10, 11 and 12, then Collectible Progression Note: Does the game save your secrets progress? I was a little reluctant to do a guide for that actually as everything is shown on the map for the most part but I wanted to stick with the franchise and see if I could at least better my guides. Also, they put gyro controls on both games for the Switch version, which is the sole reason why I opted for it I love using motion controls for shooters since the Wii. Head inside, jump up to the next door, and then kill the demon in the far room to spot an Elite Guard laying against the far wall.
