Emerging star Denise G. Sanchez is the daughter of Peruvian immigrants and a first-generation American. For as long as she can remember Sanchez fancied being on camera. It just seemed as if Sanchez always found herself in front of a camera. Or she and her sister were in their playroom busily coming up with different skits or Sanchez was creating her latest fashion runway show for her family. Or she was dancing or painting. I was this big ball of energy that needed outlets. I eventually ended up in theatre which is where I discovered what I really wanted to do. When the time rolled around for college, Sanchez had her heart set on further exploring her creative aspirations. However, her parents, a bit more traditional, wanted to invest in their daughter following a more conventional path and for Sanchez to get a degree in something other than the arts.
