August 22nd, In the past few months, I have been unable to use my webcam on my inspiron laptop. I ran a few different diagnostics but was unable to find a solution. However, the other day I noticed that the webcam driver wasn't actually present in my device manager. Thinking I had figured out the problem, I reinstalled the webcam driver from the inspiron support page. However, when I restarted my computer the driver still did not appear in the device manager and my webcam still did not work. At this point, I am at a loss. I've seen that other people have had the same or a very similar issue to mine, but no one has been able to fix it. At this point I am thinking of just buying an external webcam for my laptop and calling it quits.
