Vanished tells the story of a man and woman faced with an almost unthinkable tragedy-the mysterious abduction of their son.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Danielle Steel. Marielle is happily married to Charles Delauney, and they have a four-year-old son together, Andre. After being visited by Marielle's parents, who warn her about Charles, Marielle, Charles and Andre go on holiday in Switzerland. While Marielle is being greeted by a neighbor, Andre tries to get his ball from the lake and ends up drowning. Charles blames Marielle, and she ends up having a nervous breakdown.

Lisa Rinna makes a good movie even better Monika-5 10 October Lisa Rinna who was playing Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives at the time of this filming is magic as the tragic Marielle, who is married unhappily to a real jerk played deliciously by George Hamilton. Too bad that no sparks fly onscreen between Rinna and a miscast Robert Hays who portrays the detective Marielle falls for. Speaking of Robert Hays, it's so weird to see him in such a quiet, dull role. I kept expecting him to turn into Ted Striker!
