Transformer terminology can be challenge to old and new readers and writers. Especially since they have such a vast amount of cannon series and differences throughout the Transformers fandom and shows itself. These are merely definitions, some may get lengthy but that is so it is easier to understand if it is a complicated term. The use of such Substitution Alphabets in Transformers dates from 's Beast Wars which featured Alphabets developed for use in both the Maximal and Predacon computer displays. Fan-produced fonts created around the same time loosely based on Transformer writing which appeared in the US comic and cartoon in would later beginning in begin creeping into official Transformers productions, though the substitution-alphabet they represent does not, of course, work for the original stories they were based on. Cyberglyphics , an 'ancient' Transformers script created for the original movie, is particularly subject to dissonance Finally, there are Substitution Alphabets originating outside of the Transformers mythos, such as Aurabesh. Aurabesh appeared on a monitor in For All Mankind. Originally based on samples of Autobot writing from the Transformers episode " Cosmic Rust " and The Headmasters 's " I Risk My Life for Earth " which represented Ancient Autobot , a script no longer in common usage on Cybertron, but still used on colony worlds such as Antilla and Master. A fan-font based on this script was used by the AllSpark Wars "mini-ARG" in again associated with an Autobot colony, and not the 'main' Transformer language and its use has since proliferated as a de-facto 'default' Autobot written language. It should be little surprise, given a moment's thought, that distinct Cybertronian languages exist. The Transformers did not go about speaking English or any other known Earth language long ages ago on their distant metal world. Though the records of such conversations are frequently translated for us, we should not forget that these conversations originally flowed in odd electronic syllables past strange metallic lips, or were etched by alien hands long eons before the first humans painted muddy shapes upon dark cave stone. Over the years, multiple substituion cypher alphabets have been created by fans and professionals to represent the languages of Cybertron, often used to hide coded messages in media.
