We are a bunch of girls with varying food likes and dislikes and requirements, but on the Cucina Rustica menu , there really is something for everyone. It was tasty and light, with a great flavour of tomato and garlic, brilliant to share and pick at while continuing our endless gossip. There were a lot of other tempting starters which I am looking forward to trying when I drag hubby back sometimes soon. There are also good choices of meat dishes including steak, lamb, veal and chicken. The 5 of us all went for differrent things. We were a party of 4. I watched the owner Brian whiz through order upon order. The waiter Michael ws excellent as well as funny! The food was beyond perfect. It will be my new go to restaurant and I am fussy!! Also, it was refreshing to see all the staff helping each other. Teamwork makes for excellence.

It was a cold day but A busboy started up the heater for our table. The bus boy also provided bread and olive oil, which was appreciated because the waiter was very scarce. The food was good but it appears the "late lunch" is treated as an after-thought. The only parking available in congested downtown San Luis Obispo is on-street parking with very expensive meters and limited to 2 hours. During a recent visit to SLO, my sister and I went for dinner at Giuseppe's and had a wonderful meal. We did have to wait about 25 minutes for a table, but that is not bad considering it was a Saturday night. Our waiter was I had the pasta carbonara which was perfectly seasoned, light on the cream sauce and with just right al dente pasta. As the waiter had told me, I found the dish to be not as overly heavy on the cream and cheese as can happen in some places.
