Crowsworn is an upcoming Metroidvania game developed by Canadian [1] studio Mongoose Rodeo. Crowsworn is a Metroidvania with elements of the soulslike genre. The player takes control of a protagonist with the appearance of a plague doctor , who wakes up in a coffin suffering from amnesia. As the protagonist, the player must transverse the kingdom to uncover the origin of this curse. They can also utilize Corvian powers, magical abilities that can be used in combat. Use of Corvian powers requires the exertion of an energy called Malice, which can be recharged by attacking enemies with the scythe. Contents move to sidebar hide.

In a dark and oppressive world, where even the air seems to carry weight, you awake from a deep slumber. Seemingly void of purpose, you venture forth attempting to retrace your steps and regain your lost memories…. In Crowsworn you will explore a giant interconnected world that is inhabited by vicious enemies and monsters. And danger lurks around every corner. You will use a wide array of abilities to overcome platforming challenges while simultaneously juggling combat encounters. Every challenge is designed with the intent of having the player feel like a total bad ass when they triumphantly overcome it! As you explore the nonlinear world, you will discover new abilities that will allow you to backtrack and unlock new regions of the world to explore. As you explore you will encounter bosses. They will be challenging and they will be epic! In Crowsworn you are equipped with three unique weapons that you will use to defeat enemies as you traverse the world. These weapons are the Scythe , Pistols , and Corvian Magic. Taking inspiration from Bloodborne and Devil May Cry led to the design of a highly stylized and fast paced combat system. We have gone to great lengths and spent countless hours iterating on the control feel and responsiveness in order to ensure that the game feels great to play. Developer Mongoose Rodeo has unveiled a new trailer for its Hollow Knight -inspired action-adventure Metroidvania, Crowsworn. The trailer, which comes in at just over a minute long, hammers home its influences while showing players a few of the features that help it stand apart. This is a fast-paced and dark action game with hints of Devil May Cry and Bloodborne , but the video also teases some of the brighter environments players will wander through as well. For a glimpse of all of this as well as a look at some of the tough boss encounters on the way, you can watch the latest Crowsworn trailer below. Mongoose Rodeo published its new trailer to help celebrate the second anniversary of its massively successful Crowsworn Kickstarter campaign. The extra funding unlocked a smorgasbord of extra funding goal goodies to look forward to, including a boss rush mode, nightmare mode, voice acting, free DLC titled Isles of Vladar , animated cutscenes, and more. Crowsworn was previously intended to at least arrive for PC via Steam by December because, as explained in a recent Kickstarter update post , Mongoose Rodeo has about 10 times more work to do than it originally planned.
