I am a fan of the blues, a fan of the warmth and a fan of the islands. With the first half of my trip joining the Club Med family; I already had a vision. Snorkeling, food, quick beach strolls, more food and several cocktail hours throughout my stay as it is always 5 pm somewhere. Located alongside the miles-stretched and famously known Grace Bay Beach, this Club Med Property sits on the very seaside of the coast making it effortlessly easy to hop on over to enjoy whatever rocks your boat— should it be swimming, snorkeling, diving, tanning, walking, running, napping or probably my most favourite: lounging around, eating on something and enjoying the warm weather. Punny, I know. My first impression— no wonder its called Club Med Turkoise.

But even though its small rooms with no balconies are slightly dated, and have begun to show some signs of wear and tear, the hotel's bar still throws some of the island's latest parties. The village-sized property stays packed, thanks to the stretch of pristine beach just off the back of the hotel, the nightly live entertainment, and the huge variety of water and land activities offered including trapeze sessions and scuba diving. It's not ideal for those looking for romance or privacy, but it's a solid bet for solo travelers and any couples or groups looking for a sociable holiday on a budget. Built in , Club Med Turkoise has bragging rights as being the first resort on Providenciales. First known as a party hotel where young singles could mix and mingle, the years have aged Turkoise. While she can still throw a good party, she's not the same, sexy all-inclusive beaut she was over two decades ago. As partiers themselves know, the late nights and a constant flow of guests can take a toll, and general wear and tear is visible throughout the property. Club Med is actively closing or renovating all of their classic 3-Trident properties, and with a lease expiring relatively soon, Turkoise is either in the market for a complete reconstruction or In the meantime, the massive property continues to house blocks of bold, solid colored buildings with basic rooms; wide open, verdant spaces; and a long stretch of pristine beach filled with tons of physical activities for both land and water. Its parties also still carry on later into the night than at just about every other hotel on the island.

About our rating system. It's got a long stretch of Grace Bay beach to play on, and play the Club Medders do. The clean, basic accommodations may lack the luxe touches of neighboring resorts, but with this many toys around—and at these prices on wildly expensive Grace Bay—who cares? Even in low season Club Med Turkoise is booked solid by sociable singles and couples here for a serious sports tuneup and serious fun in the sun. Aside from a raft of watersports equipment kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, sailboats, snorkeling gear , Turkoise has a brand-new infinity pool, a flying trapeze and circus school where guests can take juggling lessons , a sailing school, a fitness school, and a savvy fitness staff. At the end of the day, when school is out, when Zumba classes stop moving, when water aerobics are done, the music starts thumping literally and the party begins. Two-story bungalows hold newly refreshed "Club" rooms, smallish but cheerful. New "Deluxe" rooms are slightly more upscale versions of Club rooms with new balconies and partial to full sea views. Club Med's "Totally All-inclusive" designation now means that all meals and snacks are included, as well as all-day premium open-bar service, including top-shelf alcohol, imported beer and wine, sodas, sports drinks, you name it. Of the two restaurants, Grace Bay serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet style, and Lucayan offers a la carte grill meals and is open evenings only reservations required.

My love for solo traveling has somewhat created a medium to empower and inspire others to see beyond. Though, on the other hand — if you like to have options and more options, the selection is wide at the buffet-style restaurant where mainly breakfast, lunch and dinner is being severed. With one-, two-, and three-bedroom options — all of which have full kitchens, separate living spaces, and large balconies — Villa Renaissance is ideal for couples, families, or…. There are organized group activities as well, with sport schools and lessons on water sports, fitness, trapeze, and sailing. Pool views, you got it!

Allow me to break it down for you — there are only two restaurants on property. For those planning to explore beyond the Club Med walls, a car or taxi is a necessity. All rooms also have flat-screen TVs and air-conditioning although the strength of the cooling abilities of air-conditioning and minibars can vary.
