Reigning Summit League Player of the Year Chloe Lamb is making the jump from the court to the bench as the new University of Mary women's assistant basketball coach. The Women's Basketball Coaches Association WBCA selected the Onida, SD, native for its "So You Want To Be A Coach" conference at the Women's Final Four, where she networked with women's college basketball coaches and administrators throughout the country and connected with other female basketball players while attending sessions on coaching and recruiting strategies. Her accomplishments are impressive but more importantly, it is Chloe's mindset that will be immediately prevalent to our players and serve as inspiration to help them reach their goals. Her values system aligns perfectly with our Greatness through Virtue strategic plan. Quite simply Chloe's a winner and rising star in this profession.

I grew up in a small town in South Dakota. Sports have always been a huge part of my life, and I played basketball at the University of South Dakota for five years. I have many great mentors and an amazing support system, and I'm hoping I can help provide that for current scholar-athletes. Being a college student provides many challenges, and adding a sport to that can be overwhelming. I'm hoping to use my previous experiences to help our scholar-athletes navigate through this part of their journey. I believe my values align with the University of Mary's mission and Benedictine values. I think sports can be a great vehicle to develop and reveal character, and the university's vision of creating greatness through virtue in each of their scholar-athletes was inspiring. I will use my experience as a former scholar-athlete to help build relationships with our players and ensure they are prepared for life because of their experience as a UMary Marauder. Before the Summit League tournament last year, senior guards Chloe Lamb and Liv Korngable said they would return to the Coyotes for a second senior season. Yet Sjerven, a New Mexico transfer and two-year starter for the Coyotes, needed a "major" ankle surgery just to continue to play, her mom, Theresa said.
