The Chikage is a Trick Weapon in Bloodborne. According to the game's description, it appears to be a foreign sword making use of strange blood magic. There are 3 versions of this weapon: Normal, Uncanny and Lost, with only subtle differences of Gem Imprints and location. When transformed the Chikage is a two-handed katana smeared with blood. In this state the weapon causes Blood Damage as opposed to Physical Damage in its one-handed state and uses bloodtinge scaling to deal further damage, but at the cost of inflicting rapid poison on the user with each attack.

Bad spacing and clunky moveset and the untransformed mode is worthless. The transformed blood attack is some of the best but requires ridiculous farming to get the out of shape gems. All I can say is, Careful with cursed gems that have the durability curse. The Durability gets eaten alive in normal play. I cleared a quarter of the snake half forbidden woods with 1 gem that had durability and it was broken.

However, chikage, I believe the glaring flaw with this weapon is its lacking range on all attacks. The weapons after it suck even more, but this one still sucks. You chikage use your sidearm in transformed mode, either, so you'll need to stick to normal when you want to use a gun, torch, chikage, or the shield.

A trick sword originated in the same country as the Cainhurst Chikage, only this sword feeds not off blood, but instead demands great dexterity. Lady Maria was fond of this aspect of the Rakuyo, as she frowned upon blood blades, despite being a distant relative of the queen.
