I recently bought a lovely wooden vintage staunton style chess set and the Knights have glass bead eyes. The king is 4 inches tall and all the pieces are weighted. It comes in a lovely oak box with dovetailed joints and felt interior - but no makers marks. Question 3: One bishop is missing it's felt base - where is the best place to get hold of replacement circular felt bases? Question 4: One black castle has a split in the wood - what's the best substance for filling the crack to restore this piece? Or is there somewhere I can send the piece to have it restored? I would suggest something called Wood Putty for filling a crack in wood.

But I also really like the Piatigorsky series that Powderdigit suggested, so those are definitely my two favorite options.
