Willow Wood are thrilled to announce the opening of their new Hospice shop in Mossley on Friday 28 May. The shop, on Arundel Street, will sell the usual mix of high quality pre-loved items, including clothing for all the family, shoes, bags, toys and more and will be open between 9. The shop has been refitted to a high specification reflecting the quality of the goods on sale. We would be very grateful for donations and supporters can book a convenient time to drop these off at our warehouse by going to our website, willowwood. The shop is initially being managed by Julie Wilson our new relief manager while Denise Royle will be covering on certain days. Denise is well known to our customers as she is currently the manager at our Ashton shop and prior to that at Stalybridge.

Emmaus Mossley is a charity that offers a home, individual support and work opportunities to a community of 26 formerly homeless people. Discover more about our charity, Secondhand Superstore and how you can make a real difference to the people we support. The huge Emmaus Mossley charity store sells a wide range of secondhand furniture, clothes, bric-a-brac, vintage goods and upcycled items. Our store provides work opportunities for companions but also generates the majority of the income that sustains our charity and community. For more than 25 years, members of the Emmaus Mossley community have carried out acts of solidarity, helping people and groups less fortunate than ourselves. Homelessness charity, Emmaus Mossley, has launched its annual Christmas sale of second-hand decorations, trees, gifts and stocking fillers. The charity is encouraging supporters to shop pre-loved this Christmas to save money, support the environment and discover more unusual presents. Emmaus Mossley supports 26 formerly homeless people by providing them with a home and work in a community setting. The campaign is calling on the public to pledge to buy decorations and gifts from charity shops and to spread the word about the wonders of pre-loved. The popularity of second-hand is booming as people embrace the fun of finding pre-loved treasures. Second-hand gifts are also great for the environment, reducing the volume of new items that need to be produced and shipped around the world every Christmas, as well as minimising waste by giving items a second life. Buying gifts from charity shops means that, as well as buying a unique gift for a loved one, you are also helping a good cause. Buying second-hand gifts from charity shops is a great way to support good causes that both you and the person you are buying a gift for care about.
