It started on July 12th It was scheduled to end on September 24th but was extended after Epic Games had extended the season to end with the 1 year anniversary of Fortnite being Free to Play. The theme revolved around world collision, following the aftermath of Blast Off , which resulted in things being taken from other realities and put into Reality: Zero. Season 5 continues the storyline that was started in Season 3. The Crack in the Sky created by the Blast Off event connected Reality Zero directly to other realities, and within days before Season 5 began, rifts began forming around the island, rifting away objects from the island and bringing in new ones from other realities. At the beginning of the season, entire locations from different realities were brought to the island through the Crack in the Sky. Moisty Mire was replaced with a giant desert , along with a large resort town, a mexican-like town, scrapyard, and a cafe. The dirt racetrack to the east of Retail Row was revamped and upgraded to a full-scale concrete motorcourse track. Two more major changes occurred to the island. The farm Anarchy Acres was replaced with a luxury golf club called Lazy Links , and a large Viking Village was dropped on top of a mountain near Snobby Shores, complete with a large viking ship. Dusty Divot became overgrown with vegetation, and the research facility there started to fall apart and decay, same with the Hero Mansion and Villain Lair. The Durr Burger head that was transported into the real world was, again, sucked through a rift and transported back to the island, and could have been found on top of a hill near Pleasant Park.

The start date of Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fortnite has now been revealed. As of this writing, Chapter 5 Season 2 of Fortnite is only just beginning. While C5S2 is sure to keep players busy for the weeks and months ahead, it's now known just how long this season will last in total. In the wake of Fortnite's Chapter 5 Season 2 update going live, it was learned that this season is set to last until Friday, May 24, This means that C5S2 is set to last 11 weeks, or a total of 77 days.

Exactly what theme each season will take is still unclear, but given the time of year, there are at least a few events we can expect to see very soon. Either way, it comes to an end on September 18, giving way to Season 4, which promises to bring a lot of cool features back to the game.
