All the caves i find by exploring are either extremelly small, filled with water or uneven terrain where u just cant build. All the good cavea seem to only exist in aberration :l. My Fav is the Masks Lair, hard to get too and with a Tek teleporter surface acessable. Lair of the Mask can be found at 10,5 - Entrance is partially hidden by sea plants and has some natural defenses in form of Cnidaria and possibly Tuso spawning near entrance. All areas classified as caves have 5x dmg to the buildings whether or not they have mobs iirc this holds true for both Hidden Cavern and Lair of the Mask but they are popular base locations for limited accessability, being out of sight and making defenses focused rather than spread out. It has one of best metal spots on the map, easily gathering 20kk metal within moments and there's plenty of room for turrets inside. While 2 entrances ain't exactly optimal especially for a tribe that is not always online it allows building defensive perimeter around it. All rights reserved.
