From the Abyss Watchers Bonfire , head down the staircase opened by the altar and into the Catacombs of Carthus. Cross the bridge and head further down the stairs, then exit past the Carthus Swordsman to a large staircase. Head down, being careful of the Skeleton Ball , to see a view of the bonfire through a gate and continue progressing forward. Past many Skeletons and Skeleton Swordsmen is a hallway with another Skeleton Ball and a side path leading to the bonfire. Alternatively, after heading down the staircase from the Abyss Watchers Bonfire, one may drop down the ledges found along the right wall.
From the Abyss Watchers' Bonfire, approach the large goblet at the back to reveal a passage into the Catacombs. At the split, take a left and engage the Skeleton here. This one has glowing white eyes which means it will reanimate after you kill it so you will need to kill it twice before it stays dead and the same goes for any glowing eye variants throughout this area. You can safely grab the Carthus Rouge x2 at the back when it is dead. Cross the bridge to engage the new enemy. Tougher Skeletons who can be tricky in groups. They come with a few weapon variations but none are particularly harder then others.
