Burda style 10 2015

I think Burda is on a roll lately, some really interesting and pretty dresses. I have done that with cutting the stretch going up and down instead of around - on a denim jacket. Now I always double check before cutting. This is so lovely Alison, very elegant! Thanks for sharing the details and pattern link. Lovely dress, the fit looks great and I love the neckline front and back. I've been put off the tracing from the magazine but a PDF I could cope with. Ah, I love it! The dress is so pretty, I'm glad it was still wearable even with the cutting error. Your dress is very beautiful.

Who knows?

There are lots of designs that could see heavy rotation as wardrobe staples, nothing too crazy, and the Burda Plus section this month is totally drool worthy. As far as the regular sizes go, there are a few stand-outs among the dress selection, especially the dresses with the raglan sleeve contrast, as well as the fancier gown. The designer gown is lovely, except perhaps the odd flaps on either side of the front princess seam? The cowl necks are simple, but could be great layering pieces for fall:. Not loving the fabric, but I do like the style of the shirtdress.

Burda style 10 2015

Looking back, I have to say that, on the whole, this felt like a rather lackluster year for Burda. I was think back to patterns I was excited about, but then I realized most of those were issues from last year. I always like to do a Burda wrap up at the end of the year — it is fun to look back at all of the trends and wacky designs they throw at us. I love this dress. It is beautiful.

Another word for time-consuming

I made only two alterations to the pattern: one was omitting the zipper in the funnel neck it being the same width all the way through, the zip served no functional purpose , and the other was removing the self-facing on the neckline and just finishing the neckline with more tape. Like Loading Your dress came out gorgeous. Not offensive but not great. Elizabeth Suzann designer and garment maker in the US wrote a blog post recently about how she loves to see her clothes worn by artists who love to work in them — not afraid to get them messed up. I had originally picked this tape up to finish the skirt hem of the V dress , but decided in the end to use plain black bias tape. Have a wonderful week ahead!
