Bull rush 3.5
In melee combat, you can help a friend attack or defend by distracting or interfering with an opponent.
A character can bull rush as an attack action or a charge action. When a character bull rushes, the character attempts to push an opponent straight back instead of attacking him. A character can only bull rush an opponent who is one size category larger than the character, the same size, or smaller. First, the character moves into the defender's space. Moving in this way provokes an attack of opportunity from each foe that threatens the character, probably including the defender.

Some feats have prerequisites. Your character must have the indicated ability score, class feature, feat, skill, base attack bonus, or other quality designated in order to select or use that feat. A character can gain a feat at the same level at which he or she gains the prerequisite. Some feats are general, meaning that no special rules govern them as a group. Others are item creation feats, which allow spellcasters to create magic items of all sorts. A metamagic feat lets a spellcaster prepare and cast a spell with greater effect, albeit as if the spell were a higher spell level than it actually is. This designation does not restrict characters of other classes from selecting these feats, assuming that they meet any prerequisites. An item creation feat lets a spellcaster create a magic item of a certain type. Regardless of the type of items they involve, the various item creation feats all have certain features in common. Experience that the spellcaster would normally keep is expended when making a magic item.

If you lose, you fail to start the grapple. You can produce a spell component from your pouch while grappling by using a full-round action. If you fail to hit the target, the grapple attempt fails. Besides the pleasure of bull-rushing someone past a number of your allies as they all take AoOs on him, it can be very satisfying to shove someone off a cliff, may be needed to move a single enemy out of a strong tactical position I always figured Horatius would have been screwed if any of the Tuscans had bull-rushed him successfully , etc. Bull Rush Results If the character beat the defender, the character pushes the defender back 5 feet. Sado First Post. If the character wishes to move with the defender, the character can push the defender back up to a distance of an additional 1 foot for each point by which the character exceeded the defender's check result. However, they can choose to deal their damage as nonlethal damage when grappling without taking the usual -4 penalty for changing lethal damage to nonlethal damage. So do you, if you move with him. In neither case, officially, is there a touch attack, unless your DM has decided to houserule it thus, then you're on your own.
