If you're looking for a dedicated, tried-and-true speed trainer that's ready to set and beat PRS, we think that it's better to go for the Brooks Hyperion Tempo or the Brooks Levitate 5. And if you want something cheaper, the Brooks Revel 5 is our suggestion. The Brooks Launch 9 proved to be a fairly breathable shoe. At the time, it was an incredible shoe, and one of the few shoes I loved to death from beginning to end, racking up nearly miles on the shoe. And then there was the Launch 6, which was mostly the same, just a bit different upper. I ran a half marathon in that with no problems whatsoever. And then Brooks destroyed the Launch. The Brooks Launch 9 gains an additional 2 mm of foam in the midsole while staying true to its lightweight, minimalist MO. Breathability has also been noticeably improved, and the Launch 9 will have no issues keeping your feet cool and dry when the roads are a bit toasty.
