Boruto's previous chapter saw the story slow down slightly after all the events of the Code arc unraveled at a blistering pace. After having returned to his hideout, Code planned to pick the right place and time to strike and get Amado to take his limiters off once and for all. At the same time, Boruto Uzumaki finally got to know more about his capabilities as he talked about the recent events with his friends. More importantly, Konoha was seen discussing how to deal with Kawaki and according to Naruto, a long talk with him is imminent as soon as he wakes up. The biggest part of the chapter was Code's attack on Shikamaru and Amado when the two were alone and even though he was cleverly countered by Bronco, Konoha's very own Delta, Ada's appearance shifted the tides back in Code's favor shortly after as things start getting more interesting.

Amado is surprised to see Ada is alive. She mocks him, and Shikamaru notices Amado is terrified, wondering who and what Ada is. Considering her an enemy as she's with Code , Delta prepares to kick her with her free leg, but stops before hitting Ada. Ada points out Delta is flashing her. She obeys Ada as she commands her to release Code, shocking Shikamaru. He asks Delta what's happening, but she has no idea. Shikamaru asks Ino for backup. Sasuke apologises to Boruto for failing to keep his promise when Momoshiki took him over, which forced Kawaki to take on that role. Sasuke explains only a few people know Kawaki killed him, which he considers fortunate as many already disapprove of Kawaki. Boruto thinks they shouldn't hate Kawaki as he asked for it, but Sasuke counters that whoever kills him will be hated. Boruto says he could only have asked Kawaki, and Kawaki was only able to do it because they're brothers.

In the Boruto series, Naruto and co. When Code tried to kidnap Boruto in the Konoha forest, Momoshiki took over the boy's body, which forced Kawaki to kill the kid. Luckily, the alien revived Boruto, leaving his essence in the teen , but he was no longer able to rewrite the body of the Hokage's son. The war ended on a brutal note because while Code fled, Kawaki was left just as worse for the wear as Boruto. Even Naruto and Shikamaru were battered, but they knew they had to forgive Kawaki and ensure the village never found out. This has been especially interesting to see between Sarada and Boruto, however, as their relationship has been one built on a trust between comrades but has always felt like there might have been something more between them there. It's given them a brief reprieve to truly process everything that has happened to them in a short time, and the newest chapter of the series has revealed how Sarada and Mitsuki feel about it all. And for Sarada, her feelings for Boruto might be deeper than she realizes. They talk about how Kawaki ended up killing Boruto, and in the wake of that the two of them are trying to process how they feel about what Boruto's death would actually mean.
