The Nightmare Frontier is a location in Bloodborne. Following the instructions of the mysterious NPC who gave players the Tonsil Stone , one will arrive at this nightmare realm. The Nightmare Frontier is a realm linked to the Nightmare, seemingly ruled by Amygdala. The area is strewn with graves and jagged rocks, in the distance only white mist and pillars can be seen. Though this area is full of tunnels, it is fairly linear and yet easy to get lost due to its vast cave system that rushes players along under a constant threat of Slow Poison , and occasionally Frenzy.

Rocky Path : Nightmare Frontier features a number of highly poisonous swamps, so before proceeding it's recommended that you equip Attire that raises your Slow Poison resistance, and have a full complement of Antidotes. There's a Lamp right where you start, so use it to return to Hunter's Dream for supplies if needed. Most of the enemies here blend in very well with the environment, so you'll need to keep your eyes focused for the slightest bit of movement and listen out for the sounds of nearby enemies. Just outside the cave you start in you'll find a Wandering Nightmare near the edge of the cliff; this area has an extremely large number of these enemies so you can acquire a lot of Bloodstone Shards if you kill them all. Further along the path you'll encounter a Loran Silverbeast. These aggressive enemies can be very difficult to deal with once they start attacking. The best way to deal with them is to use fire based attacks. Near the path leading to the Cliffside Cave, you can follow another path that leads down to a ledge This ledge overlooks the swamp below, where a Silverbeast and a Large Wandering Nightmare can be seen. Like its smaller cousins, the Wandering Nightmare will try to run away once it spots you, so try to use a Pebble to lure the Silverbeast away to a safe distance before fighting it.
Otherwise it will run off the edge, forcing you to drop back down to follow it.
The Nightmare Frontier is an optional secret area in Bloodborne that requires both a special item, and being in the right place at the wrong time. To get to the Nightmare Frontier, you must first acquire the Tonsil Stone. The earliest you can find it is in the Forbidden Woods. When you arrive at the first small village in the woods with the spiked log trap at the entrance head left and go up the hill to a shack with a lighted lantern. The voice inside will offer some advice, and tell you to go to the shrouded chapel to the right of the Great Cathedral. There, the gift of the godhood will grant you strength. Head down the hill past the two buildings, and the two Enemy Hunters that stand in front of them.
Nightmare Frontier is a location in Bloodborne. This area features an interconnected map and challenging enemies. Upon arriving, the player finds themselves in a cave with a lamp. However they cannot return to Hunter's dream at this point because of a Chime Maiden 's presence if the bell resonates with a Sinister Resonant Bell. After exiting the cave, you'll notice a ramp on your immediate left, instead of going up it right away, kill the Scurrying Beast hidden to the right of the slope. Advance after killing it. Atop the ramp we see a Silverbeast sitting with its back facing the player, with a Madman's Knowledge hidden on a body on the left. Backstab the beast for an easy kill.
