Blender straighten edges
Just a thought - Is it possible to straighten edges relative to other edges on the same line, not necessarily to follow the x,y or z axes. Yes the Smooth function.
At the center of all 3D modeling tasks, there are vertices — and being able to adjust, move, and align these vertices is a critical part of 3D modeling. But when it comes to aligning vertices in Blender, it can be a little confusing. With no obvious tool to get the job done, how do you do it? Well, there are actually a couple different ways to align vertices that you might use, depending on your situation. This should align the vertices along the axis you select. This is actually very doable as well — we just need to enable the LoopTools addon, which is included with Blender by default! To start with, Selec t a row of vertices just like we did in the previous section.

Other programs I know have tools to do this, including sliding vertices about their edges! Select all the faces you want to line up, go into Normal widget orientation Alt-Space and to turn on widgets Ctrl-Space and hit S and which ever normal axis aligns with the direction you want to line up to having the widget helps with this twice then 0. Interesting method. I should try to use the widgets more often, I suppose. The only drawback I find is that it seems to move even the points at the end of the edges. Note that this is also possible with Edge slide :p. Just slide the vertices that are selected on the 1st image to one end of the edge so they overlap the other vertices. Then use Edge Slide again to make them slide to where you want. The drawback is that it will work for one group of vertices - it may get tedious if you have several groups of vertices to align. And also turn on the widgets too, again either from the header or with the Ctrl-Space hotkey. Then select the faces you want to align. The widget will show you which normal axis you need to use. So with that info hit S then the normal axis you want to align to twice i.
