Big agnes q core
Tired of miserable, sleepless nights in the backcountry? Big Agnes claims that its Insulated Q-Core is the most comfortable pad on the planet. Is it? Because it is 3.
It doesn't put all of its eggs in one basket; instead, this pad performs decently in all areas. While all of our testers enjoyed using the Q-Core SLX, it lacked the wow factor that typically associates itself with award winners, but the strong performance throughout metrics does make it a strong contender. The laminated quilt pattern creates a trough with large edges, which help keep you centered when squirming around in the middle of the night looking for the chocolate bars. While the four-plus inches of loft may seem excessive, it was an excellent barrier between our bodies and the ground. Even with minimal site clearing, we felt absolutely no debris or bumps under the pad.

The Big agnes Isulated q-core deluxe is an excellent, warm and comfortable sleeping pad. Throughout the years I have used all kinds of sleeping pads in varying climates and terrain. In my early years of transitioning to ultralight I used the lightest possible sleeping pads I could find. What resulted was often a horrible nights sleep for me and in turn, a horrible days hike. While my body often got used to the bad sleeping pads, as far as comfort is concerned, a cold mat was never fun.
The Q-Core SL rated the highest overall and balances impressive warmth to weight to size ratio. Weight The thick durable fabric adds to the weight of the Q-Core SL, which weighs in at nearly 19oz on our scale. The pad compresses into a roll slightly larger than a 1L Nalgene water bottle. Warmth With a 4. The thickness of the pad contributes to the warmth, as it keeps your body further from the ground. Durability The 40D ripstop fabric of the Q-Core SL is very durable and stood up to a multitude of surfaces including rough rock. Note: D stands for denier, which is the thickness of the thread used. It was also quite slow to deflate and proved to be difficult to compress the air out of the pad. The Bad Noisy Hard to inflate Heavy.

Even with minimal site clearing, we felt absolutely no debris or bumps under the pad. The Q-Core is plush and nearly double the thickness of other inflatable pads we tested. This thickness did come with one downside. While pads with tight baffles and narrow channels have almost eliminated the annoying bounce felt in early sleeping pads, the Q-Core SLX still has a bit of the annoying bounciness when shifting around. It is nothing compared to early inflatable sleeping pads and a far cry from the dangerously bouncy inflatable mattresses your relatives pull out of the garage when you come to visit but, the bounce is present.

Works great. Both the bottom and the top of the Q-core are very durable. About the size of a deck of cards The quilted pattern felt more comfortable than the straight tube design also, and helped avoid sliding off the end of the pad. The Big agnes Q-core deluxe is not exactly the lightest pad in the world, but it's in a segment that isn't exactly an optimal choice for ultralight hikers - the Glamping segment. Plus : Very comfortable Great build quality Exceptable weight Quiet Warm Minus : Not ultrlaight Review by Kenneth Shaw About Completely redesigned from the inside out and R-Value rated by a third party, our three-season Insulated Q-Core Deluxe provides the ultimate sleep experience when comfort and performance is the priority. Deflating is less of a pain, but certainly takes twice the time and effort to get all the air out in order to pack it up tightly. Over the years companies have brought out good UL pads - starting with Thermarest X-lite. After using it a few times it got a little easier but still flimsy and just not the best fit for what it is supposed to do. Add to compare Compare.

If side sleeping is a must and thick plush padding can help you get a good night's sleep, the Q-Core should be on your shortlist of pads to consider. Cons Heavier than others. When you move on the pad—roll over, turn—it makes a rather loud noise. Big Agnes Q-Core. While the four-plus inches of loft may seem excessive, it was an excellent barrier between our bodies and the ground. Did I mention it's very quiet? Hip pain I usually get was gone. The weight, comfort, and warmth are all on point, but the overall package does lag behind some of the ultralights yet high performing offerings on the market currently. Product Details from Big Agnes ». I recently got married, and it was time to buy a new pad. Great sleeping pad for those who sleep on their side. Here you can see the 3. Seems to be abrasion proof. What kind of gear testers would we be if we didn't spend a few nights shivering, just to test the limits of each sleeping pad!?
I believe, that you are not right.
