It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia IASIP first premiered on FX in , and with its 16th season, it has become the longest-running live-action sitcom ever — and with another two already ordered, it's unlikely to end anytime soon. Known as "The Gang," the group gets up to a lot, from numerous scams to their own musicals. No matter what they're doing, it's practically guaranteed to be both ridiculous and hilarious, and some of its most memorable moments have gone on to become commonly used memes. The show has also pushed boundaries with the way it has at times tackled topical issues with its signature dark humor. With over episodes, plenty of which rank on IMDb with a 9 or higher, there's no shortage of entertaining schemes from the best It's Always Sunny episodes. Romance on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is never successful, but there is something to be said about how long Charlie and the Waitress have remained connected. Of course, that has to do with Charlie obsessively pursuing her despite no interest on her part. This episode deals with Mac and Dennis deciding to set Charlie up on a date to avoid him potentially losing control when he learns the Waitress is getting married. From the disastrous dating profile to the sweaty date itself to Charlie eating a block of cheese to calm his nerves, the episode has endless fun with how bizarre Charlie truly is. It can be hard to introduce a new character into a sitcom ensemble, but Danny DeVito joining It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia in season 2 changed the show for the better. DeVito fully committed to the disgusting and unhinged character of Frank Reynolds to the point that the rest of the gang feels he has gone too far.

Some of the plot lines found throughout the series are seriously messed up and yet many consider it to be one of the best TV comedies of the 21st century. Were it not for its wonderful cast of characters though, that might not be the case.
An impulse purchase leads the gang to enter the world of nautical adventures. Tensions run high in the gang when Mac courts Dennis and Dee's mom and the two organize a stakeout to blackmail Frank and get out of "Charlie work". Every new event during his mental health day only seems to contradict the purpose of the break and make Dennis feel worse, especially after dealing with apps and cars and missing phones. The second season is where Danny DeVito is introduced as Frank, who takes over the management of the bar. Their second attempt is ever so slightly weaker than the original, but I was still reeling from laughter the entire way through. Their misconceptions about athleticism and talent are put to the test, leading to a series of hilarious mishaps both on and off the field. Danny DeVito absolutely kills it, as always. Everything that is mentioned in part one gets miraculously payed-off in part two, and the final dance scene is uproarious. The Nightman Cometh. It's risky to upend a show's dynamic, but this episode — in which we saw just how vital Charlie's perpetually under-appreciated toil at Paddy's truly was — was a whirlwind of behind-the-scenes surprises.
