The Extractinator or Silt Extractinator on the minimap [1] is an item that converts Silt , Slush , and Desert Fossils into more valuable items such as ores , coins , and gems. Underground Cabins in the Underground Desert also have a chance to contain an Extractinator. To use the Extractinator, it first needs to be placed in the world. Holding the Auto Select key and clicking on the Extractinator will automatically insert extractable items from the player's inventory without having to pick them up manually. Feeding blocks to the Extractinator is the only way to obtain Amber Mosquitoes , and, along with opening crates , the only reliable way to obtain a world's alternative pre-Hardmode ores.
