The Chipettes are a fictional girl group from the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise consisting of three female anthropomorphic chipmunk singers: Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor, alongside their adoptive human mother, Beatrice Miller. Brittany Jewel Miller is the lead singer and leader of The Chipettes and is the female counterpart to Alvin. Brittany has been shown to be quite impulsive, sassy, lazy and entitled. She loves to go shopping and can be self conscious about her looks at times. However, she drives toward any goal she has set with complete determination, stopping just short of ruthlessness. During the series Brittany is a very bubbly and sociable character, she tends to be quite sassy, stubborn, and selfish, but is fairly caring. As series progresses, she is depicted as domineering and as somewhat untrustworthy. An example of this is when she dismisses Simon's advice in The Chipmunk Adventure , when he advises them to avoid the easterly route to avoid a hurricane. She believes it to be a trick to slow them down so they'll lose the race. Brittany sometimes has trouble admitting her mistakes. Such as when her balloon is destroyed as a result of being caught in the hurricane. Her sisters demand that she admits her mistake, however as she is trying to admit it, she is unable to say the full sentence, instead changing the subject. However despite all her flaws, Brittany is remorseful, such as when she at first refuses to help Eleanor take home a kidnapped baby penguin, but later submits after seeing its deep sadness and longing. Brittany has always taken on the role as leader of the Chipettes, being lead singer or forward speaker for her sisters.

Charlene the Chipette is the very first Chipette and Brittany 's prototype. She has blonde hair in a ponytail and blue eyes. Her signature colours are red and pink. Charlene was the first character to be referred to as a or rather "the" "Chipette". Not only this but the cover art says she is "of The Chipettes," indicating there is more than one. It is not known if this incarnation is the same as the late incarnation more well known as The Chipettes a trio of sisters though. On this album, Alvin sings a duet with a female character billed as Charlene the Chipette. Charlene was depicted on the album cover as having a blonde ponytail, potentially modelled after the character Sandy Olsson within the film. She was the basis for the later character of Brittany. She and the other two members of The Chipettes were created in late , and the major differences are that Charlene has more detailed hair and was shown with a black nose.
