Alspac data
We have a vast amount of biological samples and phenotypic, environmental, genetic and linkage data gathered from different cohort groups over the past 30 alspac data. There are several ways you can explore this resource.
We welcome requests from all researchers to access ALSPAC data and samples, whatever your research area, institution, location or funding source. We can also help you collect new data and samples through a variety of activities, including whole cohort questionnaire collections, recall-by-genotype substudies, small-scale qualitative interview studies and clinic-based biomedical measurements. We are considering how international data sharing may be affected by Brexit and the Schrems II judgement. If you have any questions about accessing data or samples, please email alspac-data bristol. For more information on how to apply to access this resource, please visit the University's Special Collections website. Once your research proposal has been approved, you will be assigned a data buddy who will help you at every stage of your project.

Postnatal depression which persists beyond six months after birth and is severe, increases the risk of children exhibiting behavioural problems, achieving lower GCSE mathematics grades at 16 years and having depression at 18 years of age. A major international study has pinpointed more than genetic risk factors that explain why some people suffer from asthma, hay fever and eczema. Initial recruitment of pregnant women took place in and the health and development of the index children from these pregnancies and their family members have been followed ever since. The eligible sampling frame was constructed retrospectively using linked recruitment and health service records. Additional offspring that were eligible to enrol in the study have been welcomed through major recruitment drives at the ages of 7 and 18 years; and through opportunistic contacts since the age of 7. This data note provides a status update on the recruitment of the index children since the age of 7 years with a focus on enrolment since the age of 18, which has not been previously described. A total of additional G1 the cohort of index children participants have been enrolled in the study since the age of 7 years with of these joining since the age of This additional enrolment provides a baseline sample of 14, G1 participants who were alive at 1 year of age.

In the enrolled sample, four mothers had three eligible pregnancies — in each case one of these pregnancies was either never formally enrolled or, if enrolled, had no data associated with it. It is uniquely equipped to follow changes in health and well-being across the lifespan, what affects this, how certain factors work across generations and how changes in society affect the health and well-being of families going through similar events 30 years apart. ALSPAC collected dietary information from both mothers, their partners and children at various time points see the table below using FFQs and diet diaries. At 7 years, parents of the whole cohort were sent a 3-day diet diary to complete about their child. The resource has a substantial genetic data collection such as whole genome genotyping on 11, children, 11, mothers and 3, partners, together with 1, mother-child pairs with genome-wide DNA methylation. In later data collections the focus has been on the mothers. This data note should be useful for all researchers working with the G0 mother ALSPAC data to understand the G0 mother enrolment methods and sample sizes, details of mothers with two pregnancies, and an update on G0 mother mortality. This variable is now located within the mothers cohort profile file MZ. Response The table below provides the response to each dietary assessment as outlined in a previous publication [91]. From 7 years, separate questions were asked to establish what was eaten during school hours.
