Back to the Future is arguably a pop culture phenomenon that stands the test of time till today. The writer Bob Gale believed that the story would make a great musical and could be re-told on stage in a brand new way. The set by Tim Hatley, two-time Olivier and Tony award winner, transports you back in time. The makeup, costumes, and music mesmerize and completely suck you into the world of the musical. The story is set in the 80s, where a young boy McFly accidentally goes back in time, to the 50s, in a time-travelling car! He meets the younger version of the scientist who invented the machine and must repair the damage he causes by tampering with time. The scientist, Dr Emmett, must devise a way to set things right and get McFly back to the future to avoid the catastrophic repercussions of time travel.
The Adelphi Theatre that exists today is the fourth theatre on the site. Recent shows at the Adelphi Theatre include the Olivier Award-winning production of Kinky Boots , set at a Northamptonshire shoe factory where the owner taps into the world of drag to improve business. The Broadway production of Waitress also ran at the Adelphi for two years. The raking of the seats is not particularly substantial in any part of the theatre. In the Stalls, the overhang of the Dress Circle affects the view of the top of the stage from the seats in Row P and onwards. In the Dress Circle, patrons may miss action at the top and front of the stage in Row N due to the shallow rake of the seats in front and the overhang of the Upper Circle. The Upper Circle is set fairly high in this theatre, though is not as far from the stage as in other theatres. Back to the Future is at the Adelphi Theatre in London. The Adelphi Theatre is located on the Strand.

The Stalls is the largest seating section in the theatre, with an aisle running half the length of the auditorium. Rows average around 34 seats wide, with the ends of the rows providing more restricted views than those towards the centre. Seats are comfortable but there is limited legroom, particularly towards the front. The Circle begins to overhang the Stalls at Row J, but this only creates a problem for those sitting beyond Row P, where the top of the stage is cut off. The best seats in this section are in the centre, around Row G. It is worth avoiding seats at the ends of the rows and choosing a seat further back but in the middle. This will offer a better overall view of the stage.

The theatre had become the most fashionable in London, with high society clamouring to be seen at the venue.
