Elissa answered 4 years ago. I had this issue with my Ford Escape. The ignition switch was worn down so the ignition lock cylinder couldn't turn it where they join. The ignition switch is made of hard plastic so it eventually wears down after a while. The part is about 50 bucks from most part stores. I worked for AutoZone at the time, and replaced the part myself. I was quoted about hundred to have a shop do it. Hope this helps! I have a Ford Escape.
